Turnagain Speedway was a banked oval race track south of the O Malley/Lowe’s location

Alaska Speedway was another banked oval, although smaller, on the south east side of Debarr & Bragaw.

Late '60s and early '70s, my grandpa had a machine shop and did machining on many engines. I got to go to the pits with him and was always proud of seeing "Don Boring's Machine Shop" on the side of some of the cars. In the winter, it was a similar experience for snow machine races (just colder). Special memories of growing up in Anchorage.
