I walked by this landmark on my way to work and would pause to admire it and wished I could live in it.

Marci - If you lived there, you would have been the most admired person in Anchorage… I suspect many others had the same wish. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the piece on our Anchorage visitor's log cabin. It brought back memories for me: In the mid-1960s I worked summers for Parks & Rec earning tuition college tuition $ by maintaining parks and properties including the log cabin area. It was fun to see visitors laugh when I watered the organic roof <g>. Also in 1966, as I worked on that lawn and building, I noticed a crowd gathering along the Westward Hotel (now the Hilton). In exploring this, I found the Beatles waving and enjoying interaction with the crowd from their upper floor! Later I heard that a hurricane forced them to divert through Anchorage for that day.
