This story brought back a couple of memories. I was born in 1946 and I remember flying from Anchorage to Seattle with my mother when I was about six years old. Probably on one of those DC-3s. My father was one of Alaska’s original bush pilots and a fur trapper in the Interior. I wish I knew the name of the fur trader who came by every spring to buy my dad’s furs. Wonder if it could have been Mac McGee.
